LAGOS — Nestlé Nigeria Plc has opened applications for its 2026/2027 Community Scholarship Programme, extending financial aid to STEM students across its host communities in Agbara, Sagamu, and Abaji.
Since its establishment in 2020, the corporate social responsibility initiative has funded over 250 students, providing coverage for tuition fees, textbooks, and related academic expenses. The program targets high-performing applicants in science and technology fields to build technical capacity for Nigeria’s industrial growth.
The consumer goods maker reported that more than 70% of tracked beneficiaries have either graduated with or currently maintain First Class honors.
Under the guidelines, tertiary applicants must be first-year science or technical students with a minimum Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination score of 200. Secondary school candidates require at least five credit passes in their Basic Education Certificate Examination to qualify. The application deadline is set for Aug. 28, 2026, subject to multi-tier verification by academic institutions and community leaders.
“Receiving the Nestlé Community Scholarship was more than financial support; it was a vote of confidence in my future,” said Kazeem Fatai, a program beneficiary who recently graduated with a First Class engineering degree from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. “Knowing that Nestlé continued to invest in my education year after year motivated me to stay committed.”
The scheme forms part of Nestlé for Good, the umbrella framework housing the company’s regional youth empowerment and sustainability investments.
