In efforts to establish viable partnerships that will bolster Nigeria’s agricultural sector, and set it as Africa’s economic game changer, the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Institute of Animal Science (NIAS), Prof. Eustace Iyayi has indicated that the 2019 Feed Nigeria Summit will coin significant partnerships that will result in massive prosperity for the sector.

Prof Iyayi made this declaration at the welcome address of this year’s Feed Nigeria Summit (FNS2019) tagged “Unlocking Prosperity through Partnership”. The two-day event organized by the ‘Voice of Nigeria Agriculture’, AgroNigeria, is holding presently at the Ladi Kwali Conference Center, Sheraton Hotel, Abuja.

The NIAS Executive Secretary, who also doubles as the Chairman Organizing Committee of FNS2019, stated that the summit would provide a platform for actors and players in the agricultural sector to consolidate the growth of the sector, which according to him would thrive through public-private partnership.

In his words, “The question is, how do we move agriculture from private sector support to the time when agric businesses become resilient and sustainable? This means that the key strategy lies in partnership.”

Prof Iyayi further assured that the event will proffer solutions to the challenges of building cognisant partnerships, as well as sustaining them, while also adding that such partnerships that will make agribusinesses thrive, will be established at the summit.

The Feed Nigeria Summit has consistently provided an unparalleled platform for stakeholders to track and enhance Nigeria’s race towards self-sufficiency in agricultural production.

This year’s edition will seek to establish active engagement of stakeholders to amplify fragmented efforts within the sector, in order to fast track and vouchsafe the actualization of the present administration’s goal to deploy the sector as its implementing vehicle for the launch of the national youth employment programme.

For the first time in the history of the event, the Feed Nigeria Summit will feature a “Mezzanine Deal Brokerage Room” wholly dedicated to forging project partnerships for Farmer Associations and Cooperatives that require wholesale delivery of solutions – whether on-farm, farm-gate or market related.
